Strong Communities of Faith

We help strengthen our congregations by providing training and development, consulting, and support for spiritual, liturgical, leadership, and organizational development. In additional to diocesan staff who are available to consult with and support congregations in these areas, there are three significant diocesan programs available to our congregations: College for Congregational Development, Congregational Consulting, and Building Bridges; Healing Divides.

A trained network of congregational consultants (both lay and ordained) is available to work with congregations who have a defined need and want consulting support to help address it. Most work with congregational consultants falls into one of four areas: (1) conflict and trust development; (2) mission, values, and strategic planning; (3) finances, budgeting and stewardship and/or (4) leadership and governance. Congregations seeking consulting support can request and receive a diocesan consulting grant to help pay for it. Congregations can request consulting support by contacting the Canon for Congregational Development or the Bishop. Congregations needing developmental support that falls outside the listed areas should contact the Canon for Congregational Development who will work with you to find and arrange the necessary resources.
